Abstract

Im vorliegenden Artikel wird zur Messung der technologischen Leistungsfähigkeit auf der Landesebene (hier am Beispiel des Freistaates Sachsen) ein Innovationsindikator vorgeschlagen, der eine zusammenfassende Bewertung einer Vielzahl von Indikatoren des Innovationsgeschehens erlaubt. Im Einzelnen werden dabei Informationen aus den Bereichen Bildung, Forschung und Innovationen verwendet. Im Ergebnis zeigt sich, dass Sachsen im Ländervergleich eine Mittelfeldposition einnimmt, jedoch an der Spitze der ostdeutschen Flächenländer steht. Vor allem für den Bereich der Bildung weist Sachsen sogar sehr gute Werte auf, was darauf hindeutet, dass die Zukunftsperspektiven für die technologische Leistungsfähigkeit als gut einzuschätzen sind. In den anderen Bereichen dominieren hingegen noch die transformationsbedingten Nachteile wie eine hohe Zahl kleiner, wenig forschungsintensiver Unternehmen und geringer Innovationserfolge.
