Abstract

Telecommunication in East Asia: South Korea as catalyst for regional integration? The purpose of this article is to explore the role telecommunications can play for regional integration in East Asia. The key questions are: (1) What is the relationship between the Korean way of regulating and reforming telecommunications and regional and international examples? (2) To what extent can the Korean role-model influence similar processes in the region? (3) Is South Korea interested in regional integration, and if so, why and under which conditions?
