Abstract

Zwischen Konsumgüterindustrie und Handelsunternehmen sind traditionell und strukturell konfliktäre Beziehungen angelegt. Seit Anfang der 90er Jahre werden unter dem Stichwort „Efficient Consumer Response” (ECR) jedoch partnerschaftliche Wege der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Herstellern und Handel propagiert. Eine Verwirklichung dieser Vision impliziert eine Abkehr von der bislang durch harte Auseinandersetzungen und starkes Misstrauen geprägten Geschäftspraxis. Gleichzeitig definiert sie einen Bedarf an unternehmensinternen Umstrukturierungen. Dieser Aufsatz geht den Fragen nach, welche arbeitspolitischen, organisatorischen und strategischen Veränderungen und Voraussetzungen auf betrieblicher Ebene mit dieser Umstellung verbunden sind, und warum die Aussicht auf beiderseitige Gewinne durch mehr Kooperation bislang im Alltagshandeln von Industrie und Handel keine stärkere Resonanz gefunden hat.
