La formación del capital humano en el mercado de trabajo

Abstract

Los datos del Programa Internacional para la Evaluación de las Competencias de la Población Adulta (PIAAC) de la OCDE permiten obtener medidas comparables de varios aspectos del capital humano en trece economías desarrolladas. A partir de estos datos, el presente artículo muestra que la experiencia laboral mejora las capacidades numéricas y lectoras de los trabajadores con un menor nivel de formación, un resultado que se observa en economías con distintas instituciones laborales, sistemas educativos o composición de la fuerza de trabajo. Los análisis realizados sugieren que el aprendizaje en el puesto de trabajo contribuye al capital humano de los individuos con menor nivel educativo de forma considerable, lo que puede guiar la elaboración de políticas activas de empleo.
