The impact of new economic realities on career guidance and career trajectories of young people in the context of labor values

The article is devoted to the analysis of the relationship between career guidance and professional selfdetermination and the career trajectories of young people in the context of labor values. The objective economic realities of modern times influence social and labor relations and contribute to the emergence of new forms of employment. The labor market is experiencing an increase in demand for remote and hybrid employment, which is more desirable to the modern generation of workers. The new forms of employment are fully compatible with the labor values of the modern generation of workers, and as a result, career guidance must be transformed to meet their needs. The usual forms of career guidance do not meet the needs of current high school students and require revision in terms of content. Objectively, the factors in choosing a university and profession among high school students are changing, which arouse some interest among researchers. This article presents the empirical component of the study, which is based on the analysis of a survey of schoolchildren in the Omsk region (grades 9-11, N = 11 691), conducted by the author in March 2018. Results of expert interviews with practitioners specializing in patriotic education and in working with youth in the Omsk region (N = 93 people) are presented here; these results were received by the author in December 2023.
