Abstract

Working conditions in today’s organizations are in such a way that many individuals allocate considerable part of their life time to their jobs. One of the implications of such a condition would be ‘workaholism’ which denotes spending excessive amount of one’s time to job. This article tries to study the effects of workaholism on organizational commitment. Having analyzed the statistical data belonging to 86 samples of managers and employees in Kashmar Township Department of Education, a significant and positive correlation was confirmed to exist between workaholism and organizational commitment. Meanwhile, it was asserted through statistical data analysis that job involvement, inner urge to work and immense enjoyment have a significant and positive relationship with organizational commitment.
