Abstract

This essay intends to show the results obtained from the introduction of the reward system in Local Public Transport corresponding to the achievement of efficiency and rationalization objectives. The topic is of considerable importance. In fact, the efficiency of public transport has an extremely important impact in social terms and also has important effects in terms of the development and competitiveness of the entire national economy. The main contribution of this article is due to the highlighting of the opportunity for a renewal of the so-called "mixed" model, which defines that a portion of the subsidy is calculated on the basis of the criterion of historical cost and historical need and that an additional quota is subject to efficiency and effectiveness parameters. Finally, the paper highlight the need to start a redefinition of the objectives to be achieved in order to obtain access to the "reward share"
