Abstract

Despite the advancement of technologies, education still remains inaccessible to a significant portion of people with disabilities. The goal of this paper is to examine the existing Bulgarian regulatory framework, which is related to the education of this group of people, to analyze the data that concerns their medical condition and is stored and processed in the information systems of educational institutions. The results of the conducted survey show that in the information systems of the universities is missing data which is describing the specific disabilities of the students. As a result of this, some guidelines are proposed to ensure greater digital accessibility for people with disabilities in the learning process.
