Rola audytu finansowego w wykrywaniu nadużyć gospodarczych

Abstract

Nadużycia gospodarcze ze względu na swoją specyfikę ulegają permanentnym zmianom. Globalizacja, swobodny przepływ kapitału i ludzi, niespotykany rozwój technologii informatycznych, nowe możliwości komunikowania się i nawiązywania transakcji sprzyjają wyjątkowo rozwojowi nadużyć gospodarczych. Praktyka pokazuje, że sprawcy dysponują profesjonalną wiedzą w tym zakresie i są w stanie wykorzystać każdą lukę prawną w celu zalegalizowania nadużycia lub jego skutecznego ukrycia. Stwierdza się także, iż im bardziej konkurencyjne warunki życia gospodarczego, tym bardziej wyrafinowane oszustwa. Stąd też opracowanie i wdrożenie w podmiotach efektywnego systemu wykrywania nadużyć nie jest procesem łatwym. Jednym z narzędzi pomocnym w wykrywaniu nadużyć, w tym tych o charakterze finansowym, jest audyt. Ze względu na skalę nadużyć gospodarczych i ich wzrastającą tendencję warto sprawozdania finansowe poddawać badaniu, nawet jeśli nie nakłada na podmiot tego obowiązku ustawa o rachunkowości. Ma to także wpływ na pozytywną opinię o organizacji wśród potencjalnych inwestorów. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie najczęściej używanych określeń definiujących nadużycia gospodarcze oraz teoretycznych i praktycznych aspektów audytu jako narzędzia wspomagającego wykrywanie nadużyć gospodarczych.
