Abstract

Each marked item – object, service or location gets its unique and readable to man mark – EAN code and its machine readable interpretation in the form of the bar code through the application of the EAN system. The EAN system was formed with the purpose to create a unique identification system. It uses only a few bar codes. EAN-13 and EAN-8 bar codes are used to code products in trade. The use of these bar codes makes the business in trade companies much easier.
