Abstract

Rural development is mainly connected with the expansion of the rural labour market. However, the difficult situation in the labour force market in Poland, especially in rural areas, forces surplus labour to remain in agriculture sector. The development of the organic food market, especially in rich countries, provides opportunities for the development of organically produced agricultural production, among othhers in our country, including labor-intensive fruit and vegetable crops, the size of which already have a significant share in the world production of organic fruits and vegetables. It is possible to improve the utilization of the labor force in agriculture and the inherent growth prospects for some farms, especially smaller-area and lower quality soil.
