Abstract

From the beginning of our membership in European Union, the development of rural areas is connected with EU policy. The EU policy is realized as Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). This year marks a new stage of implementation of this strategy (2014-2020). One of the tools of implementation of CAP is Rural Development Programme (RDP) which offers financial support to all the EU states. In Poland the new stage of implementation focuses on realization of tasks stated in “Sustainable development strategy of agriculture, rural development and fisheries”. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate a direction of development of polish rural areas which based on sustainable development using common-pool resources and social potential. The meaning of local partnerships was highlight. These partnerships are important agents which effectively realize the sustainable development goals and contribute to create a social capital in rural areas.
