Adoption energieeffizienter Techniken in kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen – Eine Kausaluntersuchung am Beispiel der Gartenbaubranche

Abstract

Die Effizienz des Produktionsfaktors Energie gewinnt durch steigende Energiekosten und die nationalen CO²-Emmissionsziele an Bedeutung. In Deutschland existieren im produzierenden Gewerbe sowie in der Landwirtschaft eine Vielzahl kleiner und mittlerer Unternehmen (KMU) deren Energieproduktivität durch die Anwendung innovativer, energieeffizienter Produktionstechniken gesteigert werden kann (BMU-PRESSEDIENST, 2012). Die Adoption effizienter Produktionsmethoden wird dabei nicht nur durch die Rendite der Investition bestimmt, sondern unterliegt ebenso persönlichen und umfeldbezogenen Faktoren der Entscheider. In einer empirischen Strukturgleichungsanalyse auf der Grundlage einer Datenerhebung in 104 produzierenden Unternehmen der Gartenbaubranche konnte eine Diskrepanz zwischen der Investitionsabsicht und der tatsächlichen Technikadoption festgestellt werden, welche mit verschiedenartigen Investitionsrestriktionen begründet wird. In einem alternativen Modell sind die personenbezogenen Merkmale Innovativität und Absorptionsfähigkeit als Prädiktoren einer energieeffizienten Produktionsweise ermittelt worden. Umweltbewusstsein sowie die Eigenschaften der betrachteten Innovationen waren hingegen keine erklärenden Variablen der Energieeffizienz eines Unternehmens.
