Evaluation du coût d'emploi de la main-d'œuvre familiale sur une exploitation agricole. Contribution méthodologique

Abstract

The importance of the labour force on a farm depends on the peak periods. This labour force should be estimated by taking into account the time during which labour is waiting for force (stand by) and not in terms of actual working time. The use of family labour implies the purchase of consumer goods which should be considered as production expenses exactly as the purchase of labour means. Since there exist no salaries, the consumption expenditures of the family as well as their « private «savings give a fair estimate of the cost of family labour. This estimate becomes less reliable if profits and outside incomes increase.
