Abstract

Nanostructures are used as biomarkers, therapeutics, catalysts, and structural reinforcements. They have a wide range of chemical characteristics. It has a long history and is essential to include specific functionality when using surfactants to embellish. Here, a broad range of surface-active substances, including surface-active chemicals, polymers, standard alkyl modifiers, and biological ligands, are referred to as “surfactants.†This opinion provides a thorough analysis of the covalent and non-covalent interactions of these surfactants with several types of nanomaterials, including layered materials, metals, polymers, and oxides. [1] The degree of surface regularity and defects in the nanoparticle cores and the surfactant shell, as well as surface energy, pH sensitivity, and surface chemistry, are significant factors that contribute to differentiation.
