Abstract

Trachomatous trichiasis, an advanced stage of trachoma infection, can be treated and prevented. It primarily affects economically disadvantaged and marginalized individuals, emphasizing the need for reliable and up-to-date data. However, countries like Ethiopia struggle to consistently gather data on trachoma elimination progress due to the infection’s aggressive nature. Thus, the objective of a systematic review and meta-analysis was to present a comprehensive overview of trachomatous trichiasis prevalence in Ethiopia, with the aim of aiding trachoma elimination efforts.
