Mental load: Frauen tragen die überwiegende Last

Abstract

Wie ist der Mental Load zwischen Frauen und Männern verteilt? Der Mental Load ist neben der Aufteilung von Kinderbetreuung, Hausarbeit und Pflege von Angehörigen eine zentrale Dimension partnerschaftlicher bzw. geschlechtsspezifischer Ungleichheit. Auf Basis der WSI-Erwerbspersonenbefragung zeigt der Report, dass Frauen bzw. Mütter den größten Teil des Mental Loads tragen. Insbesondere, wenn Kinder im Haushalt leben bzw. Frauen in Teilzeit arbeiten, übernehmen sie die Hauptlast. Der Mental Load ist jedoch selbst dann ungleich zuungunsten von Frauen verteilt, wenn diese in Vollzeit beschäftigt sind.
