Abstract

[...] Lassen Sie mich daher zu Beginn meiner Ausführungen auf das 'weite Europa', das 'Europe at large' eingehen - verkörpert durch den Europarat, Strasbourg, und weitere Institutionen wie die Organisation für Sicherheit und Zusammenarbeit in Europa (OSZE). Einige Bemerkungen folgen zur Europäischen Union, dem 'Europa von Brüssel', und zu den anstehenden Wahlen zum Europäischen Parlament. Sodann zur Europäischen Währungsunion, dem 'Europa des Euro'. Zum Schluss will ich meine persönliche Sicht eines 'Europa der inneren Ziele' vortragen. Angesichts der Weite der Themen sind Akzente und Meinungen z.T. etwas apodiktisch gesetzt.
