NGO im heutigen China - Aufgaben, Rolle und Selbstverständnis

Abstract

NGOs (Nichtregierungsorganisationen), im Westen wichtige politische Organisationen, sind in China etwas ganz Neues. Gleichwohl sind in den letzten Jahren zunehmend solche Nichtregierungsorganisationen entstanden, die sich mit ökologischen und Umweltfragen, aber auch sozialen oder kulturellen Anliegen befassen. Die CANGO, die (China Association for NGO Cooperation) in Peking, welche von deutscher Seite unterstützt wird, hat das Ziel die Förderung von nicht-staatlichen Organisationen in China. Dorit Lehrack, die dieses Projekt von deutscher Seite aus in Peking berät, diskutierte im Rahmen eines Ihres Vortrags am 20.1.2004 im Institut für Ostasienwissenschaften Fragen wie Was leisten NGOs im heutigen China?, Wo liegen ihre Chancen und Grenzen? und Was sind die Trends?
