Abstract

In dem Heft werden drei Papiere vorgestellt, die im Oktober 2000 auf einem Workshop in Heidelberg vorgetragen wurden. Gefragt wird danach, inwieweit die sog. 'new economy' mit neuen Formen der Arbeitsorganisation verbunden ist. Ziel des Workshops war es, eine theoriegestützte komparative Diskussion über die Erfahrungen in Japan, den USA und der EU zu anzuregen. Christoph Scherrer stellt einige theoretische Hintergründe vor und fragt, inwieweit das jüngste Produktivitätswachstum in den USA als Indikator für ein Wachstum ohne zyklische Abschwünge gewertet werden kann. Michael Müller-Camen u. a. präsentieren eine Langzeitstudie zu europäischen Personalkonzepten und vesuchen, Schlußfolgerungen im Hinblick auf Europas 'new economy' zu ziehen. Wolfram Manzenreiter betrachtet schließlich Japans IT-Industrien und fragt, inwieweit die Beschäftigungssituation betroffen ist.
