Die G7 und die globale digitale Ordnung: Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten für den deutschen G7-Vorsitz

Abstract

Die globale digitale Ordnung ist seit vielen Jahren Gegenstand der Beratungen der G7. Das Themenspektrum reicht von der Digitalwirtschaft über Cybersecurity bis hin zu Künstlicher Intelligenz. Unter britischem Vorsitz wurden 2021 die Aktivitäten in diesem Feld noch einmal intensiviert. Für die neue Bundesregierung bietet sich die Chance, diesen Faden aufzugreifen und dabei eigene Akzente zu setzen: Denn der Anspruch einer liberalen Ausgestaltung der globalen digitalen Ordnung gerät zunehmend unter Druck und sollte daher proaktiv verteidigt werden. Einen konkreten Ansatzpunkt bildet die Internet Governance als zentrales Element der globalen digitalen Ordnung. Hier wird technisch das Fundament für eine offene und inklusive Digitalisierung gelegt - und bietet sich politisch eine Gelegenheit, neue Partner zu gewinnen.
