Bangladeschs ungewissen Zukunft: Ein neues politisches System mit alten Parteien

Abstract

Die von Nobelpreisträger Mohammed Yunus geführte Übergangsregierung in Bangladesch steht vor einer Herkulesaufgabe. Sie soll das demokratische System gemäß den Vorstellungen der unterschiedlichen politischen Strömungen, die an der Regierung teilhaben, reformieren. Ein Ziel ist es, eine erneute parteipolitische Instrumentalisierung staatlicher Institutionen zu verhindern und somit die Grundlage für eine neue politische Kultur zu legen. Des Weiteren muss die Regierung die wirtschaftliche Krise bewältigen. Und schließlich muss sie ihre außenpolitischen Interessen definieren und die Beziehungen zu Akteuren wie Indien, den USA, China und Russland neu austarieren. Deutschland und Europa muss daran gelegen sein, dass die Reformen die Unabhängigkeit der demokratischen Institutionen in dem muslimischen Land stärken und die sozialen Errungenschaften, zum Beispiel bei der Frauenförderung, bewahrt werden.
