Begrenzte rechte Neuordnung im Europäischen Parlament: Die Rekonfiguration der Rechtsaußenfraktionen im EU-Parlament nach den Wahlen 2024 und ihre Auswirkungen

Abstract

Aus den Europawahlen 2024 sind Rechtsaußenkräfte gestärkt hervorgegangen. Im Europäischen Parlament (EP) selbst aber bleiben sie gespalten. Zu der gewachsenen national-konservativen Fraktion EKR gesellen sich nun die Fraktionen Patrioten für Europa (PfE) und Europa der Souveränen Nationen (ESN). Obgleich die PfE infolge der Zusammenarbeit mit dem französischen Rassemblement National und dem ungarischen Fidesz zur drittgrößten Fraktion im Parlament aufgestiegen ist, dürfte ihr direkter Einfluss auf die Parlamentsarbeit gering bleiben. Das Kerninteresse der Fraktion und ihrer Mitglieder ist ohnehin eher auf Finanzmittel, Aufmerksamkeit und die nationale Arena gerichtet. Sind Parteien der Fraktion zu Hause an der Regierung beteiligt, können sie ihr Land im Rat und gegebenenfalls sogar im Europäischen Rat vertreten. Diese Entwicklung wird die europäische Politik viel stärker verändern als die Gespaltenheit der Rechtsaußen-Abgeordneten im EP.
