Die Muslimbruderschaft und die Hamas: Zu den ideologischen Wurzeln von islamistischem Judenhass und Antisemitismus

Abstract

Der Angriff der palästinensischen Hamas auf Israel am 7. Oktober 2023 überraschte unter anderem wegen der Brutalität der Kämpfer, die mehr als 1200 Menschen auf teils äußerst barbarische Weise töteten - die weitaus meisten davon Zivilisten, darunter zahlreiche Kinder, Frauen und alte Leute. In den folgenden Wochen fiel zudem auf, dass viele Sympathisanten und Unterstützer der Hamas und der Palästinenser in der arabischen Welt und im Westen das Leid dieser Opfer ignorierten oder gar Verschwörungstheorien über eine israelische (Teil-)Urheberschaft kolportierten. Beides wurde zu Recht als Hinweis auf tiefsitzenden Judenhass und Antisemitismus gewertet, der weit über die Hamas und ihre Unterstützerszene hinaus verbreitet ist. Ihre Wurzeln haben diese Phänomene in der Ideologie der Muslimbruderschaft, die die Hamas entscheidend prägt und in den letzten Jahrzehnten auch über das islamistischeMilieu hinaus ausstrahlt. Da diese Bewegung in den Gesellschaften der arabischen Welt und auch unter Muslimen im Westen trotz vieler Rückschläge eine wichtige Kraft darstellt, müssen Deutschland und Europa ihr Verhältnis zu ihr klären.
