Abstract

Seit der Ministerkonferenz der Welthandelsorganisation (WTO) 2017 in Buenos Aires drängen die 'Freunde des E-Commerce' auf ein umfassendes neues Abkommen zu digitalem Handel. Wird das geplante Abkommen bestehende Ungleichheiten zwischen dem Globalen Norden und dem Globalen Süden weiter verschärfen, wie viele Entwicklungsländer und NGOs befürchten? Welche globalen Rahmenbedingungen wären erforderlich, um eine eigenständige Digitalwirtschaft im Globalen Süden zu ermöglichen? Diese Fragen diskutiert Sven Hilbig von Brot für die Welt im Global Governance Spotlight 3|2021.
