Mindestlohn: Nach Industriezweig unterschiedliche Folgen zu erwarten

Abstract

In welchen Branchen der Mindestlohn negative Beschäftigungseffekte auslösen wird, hängt auch von der Lohnsetzungsmacht der Arbeitgeber ab. - Ob die flächendeckende Lohnuntergrenze in Deutschland zu Entlassungen führt, wird sich erst mittelfristig zeigen. Eine neue RWI-Analyse ermöglicht jedoch schon heute eine differenzierte Abschätzung der zu erwartenden Mindestlohn-Effekte. Beschäftigte in Niedriglohnbranchen mit hoher Lohnsetzungsmacht der Arbeitgeber haben ein geringeres Risiko von Jobverlusten. Dies trifft vor allem auf das Hotel- und Restaurantgewerbe, den Einzelhandel und die Landwirtschaft zu. Gefährdet sind hingegen Jobs in der Nahrungsmittelproduktion und in anderen Serviceberufen sowie generell Beschäftigte in Ostdeutschland.
