Pforzheim: Alles Schmuckstadt - oder was? Über die Schwierigkeiten, den Strukturwandel einer Region erfolgreich zu gestalten

Abstract

Die Stadt Pforzheim feiert im Jahr 2017 die 250 Jahre zurückliegende Begründung ihrer Traditionsindustrie durch Markgraf Karl Friedrich mit einer Vielzahl von Veranstaltungen. Naturgemäß beteiligte sich auch die der Stadt eng verbundene Hochschule mit Beiträgen ihrer drei Fakultäten. Die Fakultät für Wirtschaft und Recht präsentierte dabei im Rahmen des Studium Generale der Hochschule im Sommersemester einen Vortrag, der die historischen Wurzeln der Schmuckindustrie, ihren Aufstieg und Niedergang sowie die damit zusammenhängenden Probleme des sektoralen und regionalen Wandels der Wirtschaftsstrukturen aufzeigte. Dem Vortrag liegt die hier vorgelegte breiter angelegte und mit Literaturnachweisen versehene Darstellung zugrunde.
