Die Unabhängigkeit der Deutschen Bundesbank: Eine Erfolgsgeschichte

Abstract

Die Unabhängigkeit der Zentralbank soll die Geldpolitik vor politischen Einflüssen schützen. Dass dies funktioniert, ist sowohl theoretisch als auch empirisch belegbar. Nach der Bank deutscher Länder wurde auch die Deutsche Bundesbank 1957 als "unabhängige" Zentralbank gegründet. Sie konnte die Inflationsrate in der Vergangenheit vergleichsweise geringhalten, weshalb sie als Modell für viele andere unabhängige Zentralbanken gilt. Damit kann die Deutsche Bundesbank als Erfolgsmodell gesehen werden. Es gibt jedoch auch Kritik an dem Konzept der unabhängigen Zentralbank. Letztendlich muss dieses Konzept immer wieder überdacht und erneuert werden.
