Wirtschaftsethische Reflexionen zur globalen Armutsbekämpfung

Abstract

In den letzten Jahren hat es spektakuläre Erfolge bei der globalen Bekämpfung extremer Armut gegeben. Dies lässt darauf schließen, dass die weltwirtschaftliche Reichtumsproduktion nicht auf Ausbeutung beruht, sondern auf innovativer Wertschöpfung. Deshalb ist der weitere Abbau extremer Armut nicht davon zu erwarten, dass man die Reichen enteignet und ihren Reichtum umverteilt, sondern vielmehr davon, dass man den Armen verstärkt Marktzugang gewährt und ihnen so die Option eröffnet, sich in die weltwirtschaftliche Arbeitsteilung einzuklinken und von den Produktivitätssteigerungen zu profitieren, die sich mit innovationsgetriebenen Wachstumsprozessen verbinden. Diese Erkenntnis ist von grundlegender moralischer Bedeutung - was oft verkannt wird.
