Umfassende Wohngeldreform 2023

Abstract

Zum dritten Entlastungspaket der Bundesregierung gehört eine umfassende Wohngeldreform. Nach Berechnungen des IW-Mikrosimulationsmodells werden sich die Anzahl der Wohngeldhaushalte und -ausgaben mehr als verdreifachen. Zu den drei wesentlichen Reformbausteinen zählen die dauerhafte Einführung einer Heizkostenkomponente, die Anhebung der Einkommensgrenzen sowie die Anhebung der Miethöchstbeträge durch eine Klimakomponente. Die Reform bietet eine zielgerichtete Entlastung für viele einkommensschwache Haushalte, bei der gleichzeitig die Anreize zum Energiesparen erhalten bleiben.
