Kurzarbeit im Zeichen von Corona: Trotz düsterer Aussichten ein paar Lichtblicke

Abstract

Kurzarbeit ist eines der wichtigsten Instrumente, um die Folgen der Corona-Pandemie auf den Arbeitsmarkt abzufedern. Eine Befragung von 555 Unternehmen im Rahmen des IW-Covid-19-Panels ergab, dass 55 Prozent der Unternehmen Kurzarbeit angezeigt haben - darunter auch viele, deren Geschäftstätigkeit bislang noch gar nicht stark beeinträchtigt ist. Dies kann einerseits negative Erwartungen widerspiegeln oder andererseits ein Hinweis darauf sein, dass Unternehmen Kurzarbeit auch vorsorglich anzeigen, um sie im Bedarfsfall schnell umsetzen zu können.
