Einkommensverteilung in Europa: Wo stehen wir

Abstract

Werden Armutsgefährdungsquoten auf Basis nationaler Schwellenwerte herangezogen, stechen insbesondere einige osteuropäische Länder mit sehr niedrigen Quoten hervor. Gilt der durchschnittliche Lebensstandard der EU als Maßstab, rücken Luxemburg, Belgien und die Niederlande an die Spitze des Rankings. Während Deutschland mit einer Armutsgefährdungsquote von 14,8 Prozent im Jahr 2021 bei nationaler Betrachtung im (guten) Mittelfeld der EU-27 abschneidet, zählt es mit Blick auf eine europaweite Armutsgefährdungsschwelle eindeutig zu dem Drittel der Länder mit den geringsten kaufkraftbereinigten Armutsrisiken.
