Die Einkommens- und Vermögensungleichheit Deutschlands im internationalen Vergleich

Abstract

Im Vergleich zu anderen Industrienationen fällt die Ungleichheit der Nettoeinkommen in Deutschland unterdurchschnittlich aus - dies geht vor allem auf eine starke staatliche Umverteilung zurück: Das Steuer-, Transfer- und Rentensystem reduziert die Ungleichheit der Markteinkommen um über 40 Prozent. Die privaten Vermögen sind hingegen eher ungleich verteilt. In diesem Punkt befindet sich die Bundesrepublik in guter Gesellschaft mit vielen anderen europäischen Staaten mit unterdurchschnittlicher Einkommensungleichheit, hohem Wohlstand und umfangreicher staatlicher Absicherung - wie beispielsweise die skandinavischen Länder.
