Anhaltende Schwächung energieintensiver Branchen

Abstract

Die Klimaschutzziele Deutschlands implizieren hohe Transformationsanforderungen für die Industrie. Die energieintensiven Branchen spielen dabei eine Schlüsselrolle, verzeichnen jedoch seit 2001 einen kontinuierlichen Rückgang ihres Kapitalstocks. Insgesamt ist dieser von der Jahrtausendwende bis ins Jahr 2021 um rund ein Fünftel geschrumpft. Während die im internationalen Vergleich hohen Energiepreise Deutschlands die energieintensiven Branchen auch schon vor der Energiekrise 2022 stark belastet haben, lassen die Entwicklungen der letzten beiden Jahre nun auch weitere Abnahmen des Kapitalstocks erwarten.
