Mindestlohn: Besser einhalten als erhöhen

Abstract

Der Mindestlohn steigt bis Juli 2022 in mehreren Stufen von 9,35 Euro auf 10,45 Euro und ist dann gut 6 Prozent höher als bei regelbasierter Anpassung. Das IW hat errechnet, wie stark diese Erhöhung die Einkommensarmut senken könnte und was der von vielen geforderte Sprung auf 12 Euro bedeuten würde. Das Ergebnis: besser ein Mindestlohn, der bezahlbar ist und eingehalten wird, als ein höherer Mindestlohn, der umgangen wird.
