Beschäftigungssorgen dämpfen Konsumlaune

Abstract

Nach dem Corona-Schock vom Frühjahr 2020 haben sich der private Konsum und das Verbrauchervertrauen in Deutschland wieder erholt und die Lücken zum Normalniveau haben sich deutlich reduziert. Als eines von wenigen Ländern sieht es bei allen Dimensionen des TCB-IW-Verbrauchervertrauens besser aus als im Frühjahr. Die Finanzlage wurde im Schlussquartal 2020 von den Konsumenten als normal bewertet. Dagegen sorgten die weiterhin eingetrübten Arbeitsmarktaussichten für Zurückhaltung, auch wenn die Kurzarbeit einen massiven Anstieg der Arbeitslosigkeit verhinderte. Die erneute Infektionswelle, die damit einhergehende Zurückhaltung und die Lockdown-Maßnahmen können die Stimmung der Konsumenten aber wieder in den Keller schicken.
