Revitalisierungsprobleme ostdeutscher Innenstädte - Das Beispiel der Erreichbarkeit des Zentrums von Halle (Saale)

Abstract

In den 90er Jahren haben sich Erreichbarkeitsprobleme als Hindernis für die Revitalisierung der Innenstadt von Halle (Saale) erwiesen. Anhand der Befunde einer im Jahr 2004 durchgeführten Passantenbefragung (N = 1 492) wird überprüft, ob dies nach wie vor ein Hemmfaktor für die Innenstadtentwicklung darstellt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass sich zwischenzeitlich insbesondere für Pkw-Nutzer deutliche Verbesserungen ergeben haben. Probleme der Erreichbarkeit sind auf der Liste drängender Innenstadtprobleme weit nach hinten gerückt. Im Vergleich mit verschiedenen westdeutschen Städten wird deutlich, dass die Innenstadt von Halle nach wie vor relativ wenige Besucher aus dem Umland anzieht.
