Subventionen für die Schiffbauindustrie

Abstract

Der deutsche Schiffbau ist in den letzten Jahren in eine schwere Krise geraten. Dies liegt zum Teil sicherlich an dem weltweiten Rückgang der Nachfrage nach neuen Seeschiffen. Die Probleme der deutschen Werften dürften aber vor allem darauf beruhen, daß die Werften in der Bundesrepublik mit bedeutenden Teilen ihres Produktionsprogramms an internationaler Wettbewerbsfähigkeit eingebüßt haben. Was zunächst die Entwicklung der Nachfrage nach Seeschiffen angeht, von der die Lage der Schiffbauindustrie weltweit bestimmt wird, so lassen sich seit dem zweiten Weltkrieg drei Phasen unterscheiden. In einer ersten Phase stieg die Nachfrage nach Seeschiffen infolge des weltweiten wirtschaftlichen Wachstums und einer sich schnell ausbreitenden internationalen Arbeitsteilung im großen und ganzen gesehen recht kontinuierlich an. Die erste Phase reichte bis in die Mitte der sechziger Jahre.
