Vor dem Neustart: Norddeutschlands Wirtschaft nach der Corona-Krise

Abstract

In der Studie, die im Rahmen des gemeinsamen Projekts "Norddeutschland und die Corona-Krise: Wirtschaftliche Folgen und wirtschaftspolitischer Handlungsbedarf" des Kiel Instituts für Weltwirtschaft (IfW) und der NORDAKADEMIE Hochschule der Wirtschaft erstellt wurde, wird eine Bilanz der wirtschaftlichen Folge der Corona-Krise für Hamburg und Schleswig-Holstein gezogen. Die Autoren geben einen Überblick über die Auswirkungen der Pandemie und der Pandemiebekämpfung auf Wirtschaftsleistung und Beschäftigung in den beiden Bundesländern im Verlauf der Jahre 2020 und 2021. Es wird die Entwicklung in den einzelnen Branchen analysiert und es werden "Gewinner" und "Verlierer" der Krise identifiziert. Schwerpunktmäßig wird die Lage des Tourismus in Hamburg und Schleswig-Holstein analysiert, ein besonderes Augenmerk wird auch auf die Entwicklung des Hamburger Hafens während der Corona-Jahre gelegt. Die Hilfsprogramme des Bundes sowie Hamburgs und Schleswig-Holsteins werden dargestellt und bewertet. Schließlich wird der Frage nachgegangen, ob sich das föderale System Deutschlands in den Corona-Jahren bewährt hat.
