Kulturelle und soziale Faktoren der Gesundheitskompetenz: Ein erster explorativer Ansatz

Abstract

Aktuelle Ergebnisse des Health Literacy Surveys in Deutschland verdeutlichen, dass es bestimmte Gruppen gibt, in denen die Gesundheitskompetenz besonders niedrig ist. Dazu zählen Personen mit Migrationshintergrund. Personen mit eigener Migrationserfahrung spielen dabei eine besondere Rolle, da diese häufig noch von den Strukturen des Gesundheitssystems des Herkunftslandes und dessen Kommunikationssowie Informationsgepflogenheiten zum Thema Gesundheit geprägt sind. Im Rahmen des Gesundheitskompetenzmodells kann dies als äußerer Faktor "soziale und Umweltdeterminanten" gefasst werden, welcher die Gesundheitskompetenz beeinflussen kann. In einem explorativen Ansatz konnten Beispiele aus der Literatur und Expert:inneninterviews gesammelt werden, die einen kulturell differenzierten Umgang rund um Themen von Gesundheit und Krankheit unterstreichen und damit auch einen Einfluss auf die Gesundheitskompetenz vermuten lassen. ? Im Ergebnis kann festgehalten werden, dass weitere Untersuchungen zum Einfluss von sozialen und Umweltdeterminanten auf die Gesundheitskompetenz notwendig sind, um diese Punkte bei der Messung von Gesundheitskompetenz sowie bei der Konzipierung von Interventionsprogrammen zur Förderung der Gesundheitskompetenz berücksichtigen zu können.
