Dual studieren im Blick: Das ausbildungsintegrierende Studium aus der Perspektive der Studierenden

Abstract

Auf den Punkt: Ein duales Studium ermöglicht jungen Menschen in der Erstausbildung die Kombination einer beruflichen Ausbildung im dualen Ausbildungssystem mit einer akademischen im Hochschulsystem. Die Zahl der dual Studierenden steigt kontinuierlich an. Zum Stichtag 2011 waren bundesweit 61.195 junge Menschen in einem der 929 dualen Studiengänge eingeschrieben. Dual Studierende sind jung, deutsch, in der Mehrzahl männlich und stammen überwiegend aus Nicht-Akademiker-Haushalten. Das duale Studium ist für Abiturienten eine Alternative zum Regelstudium. Es spricht nicht in erster Linie diejenigen an, die alternativ eine berufliche Ausbildung begonnen hätten. Hoher Praxisbezug, Sicherheit im Studium und beim beruflichen Einstieg sowie bessere Karrierechancen sind entscheidende Motive für ein duales Studium. "Studzubis" äußern hohe Zufriedenheit mit ihrer Ausbildung in Hochschule und Betrieb. Allerdings führen Abstimmungsprobleme zwischen den Lernorten und ‑inhalten sowie Zeitnot zu Unzufriedenheit.
