Niedriglohnbeschäftigung 2007 weiter gestiegen - zunehmende Bedeutung von Niedrigstlöhnen

Abstract

Auf den Punkt: Die Zahl der Niedriglohnbeschäftigten in Deutschland lag 2007 um rund 350.000 höher als noch 2006. Unter allen abhängig Beschäftigten lag der Anteil von Niedriglöhnen 2007 bei 21,5% - d.h. mehr als jede/r Fünfte arbeitete für einen Stundenlohn unterhalb der Niedriglohnschwelle. Der Anteil ist damit trotz der deutlichen Zunahme der Betroffenen im Vergleich zu 2006 nur leicht gestiegen, weil auch die Beschäftigung insgesamt zugenommen hat. Gleichzeitig franst das Lohnspektrum nach unten aus, Stundenlöhne von weniger als 6 € brutto sind längst keine Seltenheit mehr. Die Durchschnittslöhne im Niedriglohnsektor sind inflationsbereinigt gegenüber 1995 nicht gestiegen und in Westdeutschland in den letzten Jahren sogar nominal gesunken.
