Abstract

Die Agrar- und Ernährungswirtschaft ist nach der Automobilindustrie der bedeutendste Wirtschaftszweig Niedersachsens. Sie sichert ein hohes Maß an sozialversicherungspflichtiger Beschäftigung, erzeugt Einkommen und ist von hoher gesellschaftlicher Relevanz. So findet sich in Niedersachsen eine hohe Zahl an kleinen und mittelständischen wie auch an Großunternehmen mit einem breiten und innovativen Angebot. Gleichzeitig trägt sie in hohem Maße zur Versorgung der Bevölkerung in Deutschland mit Lebensmitteln von hoher Qualität bei.
