Zum möglichen Zusammenhang von Psychotrauma und Operationsindikation bei Prostatahyperplasie

Abstract

Es soll mit dieser Studie gezeigt werden, dass die beim Mann im höheren Alter erniedrigte Testosteronanlage bereits depressionsbegünstigend wirkt und dies durch Life-Events massiv verstärkt wird, was insgesamt krankheitsfördernd wirkt. Die Life-Events, die als starke Stressoren cortisolbedingt eine weitere Testosteronabsenkung verursachen, führen direkt zu einer depressiven Stimmungslage und einer Entgleisung der bereits bestehenden BPH (benignen Prostatahyperplasie), woraus folgt, dass eine Operation unumgänglich ist. Offensichtlich fehlte die Gegensteuerung im Sinne einer Problembe- oder -verarbeitung, denn nicht alle Träger einer BPH müssen operiert werden.
