Arbeitsplätze schaffen durch Klimaschutz: Eine Szenarienanalyse für Nordrhein-Westfalen

Abstract

Nordrhein-Westfalen steht im Kontext einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung vor besonderen Herausforderungen. Es handelt sich um eine Wirtschaftsregion, die seit Jahrzehnten einen massiven Strukturwandel durchläuft und die nach wie vor von sehr CO2-intensiven Industrien geprägt ist. Die Studie geht der Frage nach, ob Maßnahmen zu mehr Klimaschutz zwangsläufig Arbeitsplätze in NRW kosten werden. Eine Szenarienanalyse auf Basis statistischer Daten zeigt, dass es unter den richtigen Bedingungen möglich ist, die Treibhausgas-Emissionen zu verringern und gleichzeitig die Zahl der zusätzlichen sozialversicherungspflichtig Beschäftigten um 500.000 zu erhöhen.
