Abstract

Das Working Paper entstand im Kontext des Projekts "Europäisierungseffekte in der Übergangsgestaltung". Der Umfang von Jugendarbeitslosigkeit gilt in als ein zentraler Krisenindikator. Anhand der Analyse zentraler Strategiepapiere der Europäischen Union von 1993–2013 setzt sich der Autor mit der Etablierung des Diskurses um Jugendarbeitslosigkeit in Europa der daraus entstandenen Bearbeitung des Politikfeldes Jugendarbeitslosigkeit auseinander. Diskutiert werden und Funktion und Möglichkeiten der "Entdeckung" von Jugendarbeitslosigkeit als europäisches Politikfeld.
