Wie viele und welche Wohnungen fehlen in deutschen Großstädten? Die soziale Versorgungslücke nach Einkommen und Wohnungsgröße

Abstract

Steigende Mieten und hohe Wohnkosten sind in deutschen Großstädten für viele Einwohner ein gravierendes Problem. Die Haushalte sind je nach Einkommenssituation und Haushaltsgröße in unterschiedlichem Maße von der Wohnproblematik betroffen. Dieser Bericht gibt für 77 deutsche Großstädte Auskunft darüber, wie viele Wohnungen zu welchen Mietpreisen fehlen. Die soziale Versorgungslücke in der Summe aller Großstädte lag im Jahr 2014 bei rund 1,9 Millionen Wohnungen. Es fehlen vor allem Wohnungen mit Mietpreisen zwischen vier und sechs Euro pro Quadratmeter (Nettokaltmiete), um alle Haushalte nach Einkommenshöhe und Haushaltsgröße mit angemessen großem und leistbarem Wohnraum zu versorgen.
