Trumps handels- und industriepolitische Agenda: Mehr Liberalisierung

Abstract

Trumps Wahlkampfrhetorik sowie erste Handlungen des neuen Kongresses deuten einen Paradigmenwechsel der US-Außenwirtschafts- und Industriepolitik in Richtung Protektionismus bzw. Deregulierung an. Ein genauerer Blick auf die Geschäftsinteressen von Donald Trump, seine nun veröffentlichte Handelsagenda, die Kräfteverhältnisse in Politik und Wirtschaft sowie die jüngere Geschichte von US-Verhandlungstaktiken lässt jedoch eine andere Schlussfolgerung zu. Es zeigt sich, dass sich das Wahlkampfversprechen großer Infrastrukturinvestitionen als Privatisierungsprogramm entwickelt. Das vorliegende Working Paper analysiert die Ziele der Trump-Administration sowie der zentralen Akteure im Kongress und der Wirtschaftsverbände.
