Abstract

Die Entwicklung auf dem Arbeitsmarkt gestaltete sich 2021 besser als noch im Frühjahr erwartet wurde, als angenommen wurde, dass das Vorkrisenniveau in der Beschäftigung erst 2022 erreicht werden würde. Tatsächlich wurde im Jahresdurchschnitt 2021 das Vorkrisenniveau bereits übertroffen. Dennoch gibt es weiterhin noch Aufholbedarf in den kontaktintensiven Branchen Beherbergungs- und Gaststättenwesen, im Bereich Verkehr und Lagerei, und hier insbesondere im Bereich Land- und Luftverkehr, Kunst, Unterhaltung und Erholung sowie in den persönlichen Dienstleistungen, aber auch bei den Reisebüros, wo das Vorkrisenniveau noch nicht wieder erreicht werden konnte. Für 2022 erwartet das WIFO, dass sich der Arbeitsmarkt weiter günstig entwickeln wird, obschon Unsicherheit nach wie vor in Hinblick auf die pandemische Entwicklung besteht.
