Abstract

Die aktuelle Konjunkturlage verbesserte sich in Österreich im September 2020 weiter. Auf Basis hochfrequenter Daten zeigt der wöchentliche WIFO-Wirtschaftsindex (WWWI) in der Kalenderwoche 39 eine Lücke von 2,9% gegenüber dem Vergleichswert des Vorjahres. Im Monatsdurchschnitt war die Erholung abermals schwächer als in den Vormonaten. Die auf dem WWWI aufbauende Einschätzung für das Gesamtjahreswachstum des BIP liegt bei rund –7%. Dies bestätigen auch die Ergebnisse des Clusters dynamischer Faktormodelle (CDFM), welches hier für die verwendungsseitigen Aggregate der VGR vorgestellt wird. Die Auswahl der Indikatoren für das CDFM basiert u. a. auf den Erkenntnissen einer Korrelationsanalyse, welche gleichfalls beschrieben wird. Die Lage auf dem Arbeitsmarkt entspannte sich im September weiter, in einigen Wirtschaftsbereichen stabilisierte sich das Beschäftigungsniveau.
